2017 Renault Captur prices and specifications confirmed
Facelifted compact-crossover gets trim and engine line-up confirmed ahead of hitting the road this July
Following its world premiere at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Renault has confirmed prices and specifications for its facelifted Captur.
Changes to styling are subtle but effective and bring it into line with the styling of its big brother, the Kadjar. There's a revised grille, updated front and rear bumpers incorporating skid plates as well as C-shaped daytime running lights at the front. Its taillights have been similarly updated.
There’s a new trim level to head the Captur range, the Signature S Nav, which joins Expression+, Dynamique Nav, Dynamique S Nav, Signature X Nav (previously Signature Nav) completing the updated lineup.
Propulsion comes in the form of a 0.9-litre TCe 90 and 1.2-litre TCe petrol engines while there’s a 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine offered in either 90 or 110 guise. There’s a range of five and six-speed manual gearboxes available while a dual-clutch automatic gearbox can be selected with the 120 TCe and 90 dCi engines.
At best the Captur will return 78.5mpg and emit 95g/km of CO2.
Inside, the Captur gets better quality plastics, new steering wheel materials, a redesign gear lever, more chrome detailing and revised door panels.
A new seat design aims to provide more comfort and support while retaining the ability to unzip and remove the chair covers to give then a wash, although leather seats are now offered (which don’t unzip before you try).
Making the Captur your own has never been easier. Pick from three wheel designs; 16in Adventure design; and two 17in wheels (Emotion and Explore).
Then you can choose from more colours than are in a packet of Skittles. There are 36 colour combinations available, including a two-tone colour scheme and three new colours; Desert Orange, Ocean Blue and Amethyst plus a new Mercury Silver option for the roof.
While on the inside there are seven colour packs including; blue, caramel, red, bronze-tinted chrome, satin chrome and smoked chrome.
Finally, from Dynamique S Nav you can now opt for a fixed-glass roof.
On the tech front, there are three multimedia systems available depending on while trim you choose; R&GO®, Media Nav and R-LINK. Media Nav brings a 7.0in touchscreen, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity, while R-Link adds smartphone connectivity.
The Captur boasts more tech than ever (triggered by trim level) including blind spot monitoring, hands-free parking, front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.
