Subaru VIZIV-7 SUV concept
The Japanese car maker unveiled a seven-seat large SUV at the 2016 LA Auto Show and will make production in 2018
The choice for buyers looking for large SUV’s is hotting up as Subaru becomes the latest car manufacturer to unveil its vision, only a few months after the Volkswagen Atlas and Skoda’s Kodiaq were unveiled.
It has unveiled what would become its largest ever and the most premium vehicle in the company’s history at the Los Angeles Motor Show. It has seating for seven in a three-row arrangement.
Although it’s a concept by name, remove a few of the glitzy catwalk add-ons and the VIZIV-7 looks almost production ready.
At the front, it has the Lavorg’s headlights and grille design, while there are similar traits to the rear lights.
It’s massive, standing at 5,200mm long, 2,030mm wide and 1,860mm high, meaning it’s 163mm long than the VW Atlas (5037x1979x1768) and over half a meter more than the Kodiaq (4696x1882x1676). It even dwarfs a Range Rover.
‘The concept expresses our core brand values, safety, dependability, capability for outdoor activities and a forward-looking attitude,” said Takeshi Tachimori, Corporate Executive Vice President, Fuji Heavy Industries, LTD. “We know customers in this segment want a full-sized vehicle and the next 3-row from Subaru will be the biggest Subaru vehicle ever.”
The concept is set to make it to production and will be launched in the US in 2018.
