2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe
More powerful version of the GLC Coupe will spearhead the range and gets Paris debut ahead of December launch
Mercedes–AMG has confirmed a range-topping version of its GLC Coupe, the GLC 43 4Matic Coupe which was unveiled a the Paris Motor Show and will take on the Porsche Macan SUV.
The powerful SUV coupe gets unique styling and an aggressive AMG bodykit. Featuring a diamond radiator grille with chrome pins and louvres in high-gloss black, the GLC 43 coupe also gets 19in AMG light-alloy wheels and AMG front and rear spoilers.
Powered by a 3.0-litre V6 bi-turbo engine producing 360bhp and 384lb ft of torque, the GLC 43 Coupe will get from 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds and on to a limited 155mph. It’s connected to a nine-speed automatic gearbox with the power being sent to all four wheels by Mercedes 4Matic system. The vehicle, however, is set up to have a rear wheel bias, as 69% of the torque is sent to the rear wheels allowing for an element of oversteer.
The dual-clutch automatic gearbox and has been reprogrammed for quicker gear changes and will allow multiple downshifts, ensuring the GLC 43 is ready to react and accelerate quickly when instructed. There are three gearbox settings including Sport, Sports plus and manual.
Air body control adaptive damping means the GLC 43 can be adjusted to suit your driving needs. You can choose from Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus settings. Sports Plus reduces the amount of body roll and sharpens the handling.
Comfort and Sports Mode also adjusts the speed-sensitive steering, meaning the steering feel becomes more dynamic to enhance the driving experience.
Not just a sporty SUV, the GLC 43 is also set up to ensure an element of off-roading can be undertaken as its ground clearance can be increased at the touch of a button.
Inside the GLC 43, you get a 7.0in colour infotainment display which controls audio streaming, Bluetooth and has two USB ports. The seats are clad in our Artico leather with contrasting red stitching, as are the door panels.
Also standard with the GLC 43 is active brake assist, crosswind assist, headlamp assist and attention assist.
The GLC 43 4Matic Coupe goes on sale in December, with orders being taken from October.
