Toyota Prius Plug-in and C-HR at Paris Motor Show
Toyota, the Japanese car giant, unveiled its new Prius Plug-In Hybrid and production version of the C-HR at Paris show
Toyota unveiled a Plug-In Hybrid version of its popular Prius for the first time in Europe at this month’s Paris Motor Show. The new Prius was joined at the show by the FCV Plus concept, which made its European debut while the C-HR featured in final production guise.
The Prius Plug-In has an estimated fuel consumption of 202mpg and CO2 emissions of just 32g/km. Toyota has promised a more engaging driving experience with improved and more responsive handling. It also features the world’s first solar charging roof.
The FCV PLUS is a Toyota concept vehicle which showcases future hydrogen fuel technology. Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show last year, the FCV Plus not only has its own hydrogen fuel tank but can also generate electricity stored outside of the vehicle, meaning the car can produce power at different locations.
Taking centre stage ahead of hitting showrooms in 2017, was the C-HR, being shown in final production guise for the first time.
Priced from £20,995 in the UK, the C-HR is a compact crossover that is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine or 1.8-litre petrol hybrid engine and will be available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or CVT automatic transmission, and can be specified with all-wheel drive.
At launch the C-HR is being offered in three trim levels; Icon, Excel and Dynamic. All models get 17in alloys, dual-zone air-con, touchscreen infotainment system, automatic wipers and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
First deliveries of the C-HR to UK customers are expected in January 2017.
