Infiniti Q60 coupe to cost from £33,990
Premium car maker Infiniti has confirmed the price for its entry-level version of the all-new Q60 coupe when it goes in October
Infiniti has confirmed that its all-new Q60 coupe will go on sale from £33,990 when it hits showrooms next month.
This will be the second-generation of the Q60 (originally called G37) to arrive in the UK and Infiniti is aiming to blend sporty driving dynamics with ride comfort. It claims that the Q60’s new adaptive steering and digital suspension system will give it best-in-class handling.
That’s a bold claim when its main coupe rivals are the BMW 4-Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and an all-new Audi A5 coupe which arrives later this year.
There’s an all-new look for the Q60 coupe, which is evolutionary rather than a full redesign. It’s instinctively recognisable as an Infiniti with its family grille and the arced rear roof pillar. It has a low-slung, muscular and sleek appearance.
At launch, the Q60 will be available with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, developing 208bhp and 258lb ft of torque. It’ll be linked to a seven-speed automatic gearbox and driven through the rear wheel.
A 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo will follow later, developing 399bhp and 350lb ft of torque. The ‘VR30’ engine gets a rear-biased all-wheel drive setup as standard with power being split 50:50 between the front and wheel wheels. It can, however, send all power to the rear wheels if conditions permit. This version also gets an active grille, which can open and close as required which enhance aerodynamics.
New for the Q60, in Sport trim, is a revised adaptive steering system which requires fewer steering inputs from the driver but can make up to 1,000 steering adjustments per second, enhancing the feel of steering.
A drive mode selector allows you to choose the setup of the coupe with up to six settings - Customise, Standard, Snow, Eco, Sport and plus Sport+ on some models - available to choose from.
All models get 19in alloy wheels and active noise cancellation to keep out any unwanted sounds from the cabin. The Q60 Coupe also gets around view monitor, adaptive cruise control, forward emergency braking with pedestrian braking system, lane departure prevention and blind spot monitoring.
The Infiniti Q60 coupe goes on sale in October and will be available in the 2.0-litre engine from £33,990. Performance, economy and trim levels are set to be announced later this month at the Paris Motor Show.
