Lotus Evora 400 goes on a diet
Lotus is now offering optional weight saving packs to improve and optimise the power-to-weight ratio of the Evora 400 sports car.
A carbon fibre pack includes a new lightweight front splitter section, roof panel, rear wing centre, rear diffuser finisher, front access panel and wing mirror caps and costs £6,500, cutting 5kg from the Evora's weight.
A lightweight lithium-ion battery is available at £1,350. Additionally you can opt for a titanium sports exhaust costing £5,500. By combining the two, the resultant weight saving is 10kg.
Should you want to shed even more weight from the Evora then you can go without air conditioning and remove the rear seats, saving a combined 27 kg. You'll save weight but not money as this is a no-cost or no-refund option, depending on how you look at it.
The combined weight saving is 42kg and reduces the Evora 400's overall weight to 1,353kg.
The lightweight packs are only available on new cars and go on sale from September.
